2023 Bainbridge Island First Friday Art Walk, Realogics/Sotheby’s
My subject matter uses nature as a jumping off point, but is not fully representational. I enjoy playing with movement, light and shadow and often view nature as a vehicle to express emotion. Though watercolors can be unforgiving, they also allow for spontaneity, vibrancy and immediacy. I occasionally add ink and charcoal for emphasis and to accentuate movement. I have also been experimenting with oils again, which allows a more tactile, and more malleable approach, as well as texture and movement.
